Freshly Brewed
Our beer selection changes a few times a week.
We condition all of our lagers under pressure using a spunding valve. We capture co2 produced naturally during fermentation. This process allows for natural carbonation and a rounder, softer mouthfeel, and better overall structure of the beers. We view these beers as more delicate and less forgiving thus call for more care, and time. Our lagers are kept at 35F or lower for a minimum of 4 weeks. We use old world methods for making the best lagers we can, utilizing decoction mashing, krausening and spunding where we feel they are needed.
We also have 3 Side Pull Taps. The side pull tap has a filter screen, which softens the beer as it’s poured. This makes for a much softer expression of the beer.
A decoction is where a portion of the mash is separated and boiled, then returned to the rest of the mash. This adds a depth of malt character we believe to be worth the effort and time.
Let us fill your glass, and clear the plates. Good Word Brewing & Public House starts with a village and the folks who make up the community. Good Word is a collection of neighbors, its’ leaders, its’ youth, its’ misfits. All are welcomed. Good Word doesn’t have allegiances, or affiliations to teams or organizations, it’s for passionate folks. For those who love food and beer, or just looking to escape the house. A place to meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, to share stories, to celebrate, to propose, to commiserate, and ultimately to simply communicate.
We serve delicious food and the absolute best beer we can produce, and we prepared that over a time, and we waited, so you don’t need to. We pride ourselves on empathetic and patient service, however these are all just a backdrop intent on not interrupting your experience. We are community driven because we are driven by the community, we are a Public House.
